Does anyone else’s coffee pot tinkle on the counter while pouring a cup of coffee or just mine?
Every day is “coffee day” to me now. I am almost 50 years old and have hated coffee, other than that wonderful aroma it sends out into the air, my entire being. That smell, however, has always taken me to a better place in my mind that is filled with bloomed flowers and dirty soil so strong that it makes my heart smile but that taste has always tasted so bitter to me that it’s like drinking something that might have come out of a sci-fi movie to cause facial expressions on command for capturing.
December of 2023 has been my last visit to see my son and his immediate family that live in Germany. While on that visit, my son insisted that I try a cup of coffee made “his way” because he makes it so good. After a few no “thank yous” and “you know I don’t like coffee son”s later, I eventually gave in to his persuasiveness and tried a sip of his coffee. Then I took an actual drink of his coffee. To my surprise, I liked it! Not only did it smell good, but it actually TASTED GOOD TOO! What have I been missing out on for so long? How come no one had ever told me the different flavors to enhance that nasty bitterness right out of a cup of jova? I actually enjoyed drinking a cup of my own coffee that my son made for his dear ole mom. While that surely hasn’t had the effect on his heart like it has my momma heart, I’ll never forget my very first cup of coffee with my son, my baby, sitting at his very own kitchen table together💙
Fast forward to being back home with the total shock of my husband when I told him I now drank coffee. My husband says it still sounds weird to him when I ask him to make a pot so we can enjoy a cup together. 😄
However, there is a new issue that I deal with every single time I pour up a cup of coffee into a mug for drinking.
The most troubling thing now lies within the pouring stage of each cup. Every single time that I pour up a cup of coffee for drinking that wonderful nostril awakening brew, the pot almost always tinkles on my countertop, and it don’t care if I pour it slow or fast, it just tinkles! Every. Single. Time.
While it is very aggrivating to watch the pot tinkle on my counter with every pour I am still here, over a year later, drinking my cups of coffee daily just as my son has taught me to make it for that sweet deliciousness in every drink.
Well, almost anyway.
